Early Writing
My first attempts at writing came once I had moved from the UK and settled in Spain and usually centered on my love of sport.

These early, "ad hoc" scribblings sometimes found their way into a variety of local ex-pat publications such as English language newspapers, sports magazines and local advertising publications.
Wherever I could get published was fine with me just so long as I got exposure. Some early attempts are outlined below.

Trading Post Spain
One of the first publications that were persuaded to print my written work was TPS or Trading Post Spain (click on image to enlarge).

This was an English language publication focussed on the English speaking ex-pat communities in the Ahaurin el Grande area, where I lived between 2001 and 2005.
Primarily an advertising publication TPS also entertained its readers with a number of articles. For a time I was their sports writer.

Local Newspapers
After re-locating from the Spanish inland village of Alhaurin el Grande and settling near Estepona on the coast, I found a further outlet for my creative sports writing, within local newspapers such as The Resident.

The majority of my writing at this time concerned my passion for golf.
